BrunchCrunch overview

Set amidst suitably Orient-inspired interiors, Shang Palace offers a Cantonese/Chinese menu to its diners. Unlike many Dubai brunch venues that offer a vast 'something for everyone' menu, Shang Palace aims to do to one style, and do it well.

Dim Sum is a favourite here, nestling in its smaller menu alongside a range of noodle, dumpling, soup and rice dishes. A majority of the dishes are meat based, so maybe not the best choice for vegetarians. This is a table service menu, no buffets on offer here - ideal for friends out for a more relaxed afternoon meal. The decor is thoughtful and sharp, and feels very authentic. Definitely not the usual opulent Dubai brunch affair, Shang Palace is a decent choice for a Chinese meal with friends.

Positives: Authentic menu and decor, friendly and attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Negatives: The table service menu can slow things down a little when it gets busy.
